Education and Prevention

In every country where CURE works, we aim to ensure that every child with a treatable disability can reach their full potential through God’s hope and healing.

CURE partners with the Zimbabwe’s Ministry of Health and Childcare, other stakeholders, and churches to help them better serve and minister to children with disabilities in their communities.

CURE offers training and capacity-building to equip local healthcare systems and churches to sustainably provide the care and support children with disabilities need. These efforts help counter prejudicial attitudes and behaviors in society and the church, and they help make healthcare more accessible to some of the most vulnerable in society.

What are the outcomes of successful education and prevention?

Children experience transformation as their treatable disabilities are prevented from becoming permanent conditions due to a lack of education.

Communities become more inclusive, equitable, and understanding of the rights of people with disabilities as image bearers of God.

Local healthcare systems and churches are strengthened and equipped to support children with disabilities.
